Responsibilities
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
- Implements, maintains and reviews payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timely transactions (salaries, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions).
- Oversees benefits administration and open enrollment.
- Oversees administration of background checks, drug screenings, and medical certifications.
- Partners with management on performance and talent management matters.
- Assists with recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified applicants; collaborates with department managers to understand required skills and competencies.
- Reviews and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments (e.g., safety, anti-harassment, licensure, and certifications).
- Assists with planning and executing special events (organization-wide meetings, employee engagement activities, recognition events, and celebrations).
- Assists with new hire orientation, onboarding, stay interviews, and offboarding.
- Attends employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Oversees employee engagement initiatives.
- Handles matters related to workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and leave requests.
- Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; escalates complex matters as appropriate.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and reviews policies to ensure compliance.
- Maintains accurate HR files and documentation in accordance with legal requirements and internal policy; ensures confidentiality and conducts periodic audits.
- Collaborates with outside vendors related to payroll, benefits, insurance brokers, and state agencies.
- Participates in projects such as quarterly 401(k) reporting, 401(k) audits, BWC payments, audits and true-up reporting, distribution of W-2s, and other HR initiatives as needed.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3 years of experience in a human resources position
- Basic understanding of HR functions and record-keeping requirements
- Experience using Paylocity preferred
- Experience processing payroll with understanding of employee deductions and reimbursements
- Experience managing and administering employee benefits
