**CT Technologist Role Summary**

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic CT exams utilizing state-of-the-art imaging equipment, ensuring optimal patient safety and comfort.
- Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure exam appropriateness.
- Conduct thorough patient interviews to obtain, verify, or update medical histories and assess risk factors.
- Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions.
- Operate imaging equipment, acquire images as per script, and review results to identify any exceptions from established protocols.
- Communicate findings to radiologists, respond to medical emergencies as needed, and provide post-care instructions to patients.
- Participate in process improvement activities within radiology, focusing on quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction.
- Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
Requirements:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Computed Tomography (CT) preferred.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required.
- One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology or advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
- Strong analytical and clinical skills, interpersonal and communication abilities, and technical knowledge necessary to operate specialized equipment and computers.
- Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment, handle multiple priorities, and comprehend physicians' verbal and written requests.
- Knowledge and understanding of American College of Radiology requirements for accreditation.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients, as well as manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate imaging equipment.
