Project Coordinator - Engineering & Telecommunications Support
Location: onsite in Honolulu, HI (with travel to outer islands as needed). Position Type: Full-Time 6-month contract. Experience Level: Intermediate.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Coordinator to support engineering and telecommunications projects across the Hawaiian Islands. This role combines administrative support, project coordination, and analytical tasks to ensure smooth execution of infrastructure initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in project planning, scheduling, and reporting, with a strong ability to collaborate across teams and manage logistics.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support: Distribute engineering drawings for printing and circulation. Route Bills of Materials (BOMs) for quotes, internal requests, and purchase orders.
Project Coordination: Confirm material deliveries with receiving teams and update SAP records. Organize and consolidate materials from multiple orders for deployment. Schedule project kick-off meetings with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders. Coordinate monthly project schedules across islands, ensuring site readiness (permits, access, safety, vegetation clearing), timely material delivery, and submission of required documentation (LHOs, Holdoffs).
Notify the operations center (NOSC) of upcoming work and arrange outage windows. Arrange safety and substation entry training for contractors. Travel to outer islands (HELCO and MECO) as needed.
Project Analyst Support: Share updates and reports with engineers (dashboards, forecasts, accruals). Pull data for project planning (drawings, material orders, kickoff dates). Assist with budget approval reporting. Set up projects and work orders in SAP. Generate service invoice entries (SES). Occasionally update internal systems (UI). Travel to outer islands as needed.

3+ years experience in telecommunications or engineering project environments

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $39.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
