Resort Director of Engineering
Join to apply for the Resort Director of Engineering role at Goodwin Recruiting. This position is located in Lake Geneva, WI. Are you ready to bring your expertise to one of the Midwest’s premier resort destinations? This AAA Four Diamond, 1,300-acre resort—recognized as a Top Resort in the Midwest by Condé Nast Traveler—is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead its Engineering team. You’ll oversee daily repairs, preventative maintenance, and long-term projects across 746 guest rooms, a luxury spa and salon, two championship golf courses, a ski hill, multiple dining venues, and more. You’ll guide a skilled team, ensure compliance and safety standards, and continually improve operations to create seamless guest experiences.
Lead and develop a team of engineers, painters, carpenters, and administrative staff
Oversee daily operations, scheduling, payroll, and performance management
Maintain facilities, infrastructure, and equipment—including HVAC, pools, kitchens, electrical, and plumbing systems
Manage capital projects, preventative maintenance programs, and the Waste Water Treatment Plant
Collaborate with resort leadership to ensure exceptional service and minimal downtime
Build strong communication with guests, contractors, vendors, and executives
What We’re Looking For
Proven leadership in facilities, maintenance, or engineering management within a resort, hotel, or similar environment
Strong technical knowledge across building systems, equipment, and life safety standards (OSHA, MSDS, LockOut/TagOut, etc.)
Ability to interpret blueprints, budgets, and procedural manuals
Skilled in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance strategies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Birchstreet, HotSOS, and building management systems (Metasys BMS a plus)
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
