RMC is hiring a
Cable Installer
to support our Navy customer in Bethesda, MD. The selected applicant will be expected to install and maintain communication networks supporting over 2,000 personnel. Responsibilities
Installing Ethernet and fiber optic networks, network components, and network interface devices. Installing DAS wireless equipment; antennas, coaxial, Cat 5/6/7 cable, fiber optic, etc. Testing and troubleshooting various low-volt cables, Cat5, Cat6, coax, and fiber (Fluke, OTDR, Light). Conducting site surveys and creating/updating floor plans. Routing, pulling, and dressing cables. Splicing, terminating, and labeling copper and fiber optic cabling. Inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting cable equipment. The selected applicant must be able to demonstrate experience with the following: Use of basic hand tools, including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, drills, etc. Working in-building with wireless technologies (DAS, spider cloud, WAPs). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to strictly follow safety protocols. Qualifications
An active DoD SECRET clearance is required to start . The applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must have at least two (2) years of hands-on experience installing Ethernet and fiber optic networks, network components, and network interface devices in a DoD environment.
Must possess a
valid Driver's License
for potential operation of government furnished vehicle and low-speed equipment (utility cart).
