Facility Manager I role at Stanford Health Care. The Facility Manager I position supports strategic expansion initiatives at the Redwood City and Palo Alto campuses, with a primary focus on the build-out of the multi-specialty clinic and clinical labs. This role involves collaboration with clinical, operational, and project teams to ensure facilities readiness, safety, and regulatory compliance. It combines hands-on fieldwork with operational coordination, including site inspections, vendor management, and emergency response support. As part of Stanford Health Care’s facilities leadership team, the Facility Manager I contributes to creating efficient, patient-centered environments that enhance care delivery and employee experience, while embodying Stanford’s C-I-CARE values and supporting long-term organizational growth. A Brief Overview The Stanford Health Care Facilities Management department contains professionals responsible for facilities totaling over two million square feet in the portfolio. The Facility Manager I assists the Regional and Facilities Manager in the execution of operational duties requiring extensive field work related to vendor meetings, site inspections, project follow up and close out. Locations Stanford Health Care What You Will Do
Maintains healthy, safe work environment through rounding and visual observation. Collects and assembles measures and metrics at each site for reporting. Participates in the FS&P On Call System. Develops and maintains relationships with Administrative Assistants of the VPs and primary contacts; coordinates Campus Council activities as applicable. Conducts site visits with ACEs and/or E&M Technicians for correction of customer-generated issues as needed. Reviews and monitors E&M metrics (e.g., backlog and response) for portfolio follow up with ACEs as needed. Supports Facility Managers in execution of tasks and/or follow up as related to activities that impact the customer. Assists with management, coordination and integration of site/zone services (parking, security, cleaning, landscaping, building system & equipment maintenance, fire life safety, emergency response). Participates in regular site inspections for condition, safety and aesthetics with vendors and landlords-property managers to document and manage corrective actions. May assist FM by conducting Landlord-Property Manager meetings for follow up on site issues. Supports FM to partner with E&M to manage Landlord compliance with Fire Life Safety regulations, including lease terms regarding Joint Commission. Supports scoping reviews as needed and emergency response in field in partnership with E&M personnel. Assists with annual generation of letters to Landlords regarding Fire Life Safety compliance and follows up on receipt of information to report to Team. Assists in managing non-skilled labor to coordinate facilities requests as applicable. Directly coordinates and/or directs contractors to execute moves, adds and changes; attends meetings to execute details. Fulfills requests by working with vendors as needed. Workplace environment support and coordination; assists with workplace services such as coffee/copy room and conference room management. Assists with E&M as partner of medical system service; assists with ICRA/PCRA documentation per policy. Assists with improving cost efficiencies, management of purchased services, PO balance report review, budget and variance report preparation. Assists in the creation of activation materials for new sites, e.g., welcome packets; aids in execution of projects through coordinating vendors. Assists, as applicable for decommissioned sites, with coordinating services to close out. Education Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered. This experience is in addition to the experience requirements for this position. Experience Qualifications
2 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Valid California Driver’s License. Preferred professional designations: BOMI, IFMA, CRECI. Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Parking operations (valet and self-park garages and lots). Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions. Ability to conduct analysis and formulate conclusions. Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus. Ability to plan, organize and manage building operational services; develop, implement and evaluate building and operation systems and preventive maintenance programs. Ability to understand contract terms for facilities maintenance or repair and ensure work is performed accordingly. Generally starting at $55.85 - $74.00 per hour. The final salary will be set based on factors including internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
