The Director of Quality will lead the companys quality strategy, systems, and culture to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards. This role is responsible for maintaining ISO 9000 certification, implementing best-in-class quality tools, and driving a metrics-based approach to continuous improvement across the business. The Quality Assurance Director is customer-focused, data-driven, and able to establish quality as a competitive advantage for the company. Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities/Duties: Quality Leadership & Strategy Lead the organization in sustaining and improving ISO 9000-9001 certification. Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring products and services meet requirements for performance, compliance, and reliability. Systems & Standards Build, refine, and enforce company-wide quality management systems (QMS). Introduce and sustain quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, 8D problem solving, and Root Cause Analysis. Ensure compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards. Performance & Metrics Define, implement, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, including defect rates, customer complaints, cost of poor quality, supplier quality, and on-time corrective actions. Provide regular quality reports and insights to executive leadership. Continuous Improvement & Culture Foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and prevention rather than detection. Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Sales to drive improvements in product design, supplier quality, and manufacturing processes. Train and mentor teams on quality tools, standards, and best practices. Customer Focus Serve as the primary quality liaison for customers, ensuring prompt response to issues and alignment with customer quality requirements. Lead corrective action responses and customer audits. Strengthen customer trust through proactive quality communication and performance reporting. Supervisory Responsibility Provides leadership and strategic direction for the Quality Assurance department across three manufacturing sites. Directly manages QA Managers and other departmental staff, ensuring alignment with company objectives and quality standards. Responsible for workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding of QA personnel. Oversees performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations. Ensures team members receive appropriate training and development to maintain compliance with ISO standards and industry best practices. Promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the department. Technical Experience: Expertise in ISO 9000 or UL standards. Proficiency in quality methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis. Strong analytical skills with KPI design and data-driven decision-making. Minimum Requirements/Experience: 810 years of quality leadership experience in manufacturing. Proven track record managing ISO 9000 or UL standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and customer engagement skills. Ability to build cross-functional relationships and drive results in a fast-paced environment. Required Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field. Physical Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Noise level in the work environment can be loud. Requires movement within the shop environment, traversing stairs, and lifting files or similar items. Significant time at a computer workstation. Standard work hours should be in line with; Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Home base will be the Texas facility, but there will be an expectation of travel to the other plants as needed (15-20%) and overnight travel will be expected.
