Network Engineer for Implementations and Activations

Description
Are you ready to support mission-critical network operations? We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to enhance the capabilities of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which provides essential command and control for the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations.
This position is part of the Leidos Digital Modernization Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) contract and is based in Scott AFB, IL. As a Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in overseeing installations, configurations, tests, monitoring, and activation of networks for various projects supporting DoD networks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead customer coordination and execute Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A) while managing reporting functions and related data for new network equipment and services to ensure compliance with DISA standards.
Configure and maintain DISA's out-of-band management network using Cisco and Juniper devices, applying tailored baseline configurations for each site.
Perform software upgrades on Cisco and Juniper devices to maintain optimal performance and security.
Develop and update project planning documents for selecting IP addressing schemes and assigning ports on out-of-band management nodes.
Conduct systems analysis, collaborating with users to identify hardware, software, or functional requirements.
Ensure accuracy in all information, including points of contact and locations, formatted according to specified requirements.
Validate points of contact for each circuit traversed and engage with DISA project managers to resolve any issues with unclear requirements.
Facilitate stakeholder engagement and coordinate approvals to maintain service request momentum.
Basic Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of network hardware specifications, configuration, testing processes, and industry standards.
Experience in network engineering, including problem management and performance management.
Proficiency in networking architecture and evaluation of new technologies for improved capabilities.
Familiarity with data and voice network design using various transmission systems and protocols such as BGP and ISIS.
Hands-on experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, etc.) and appliances (routers, load balancers, firewalls).
Knowledge of configuring and testing network systems effectively.
A strong ability to work collaboratively in a team while demonstrating self-initiative in task completion.
Excellent written and verbal communication, along with team building and collaboration capabilities.
A current Secret security clearance is mandatory.
DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DISA systems or prior work at DISA.
Familiarity with SharePoint for data entry and order processing.
Ability to order services on behalf of customers and input requests into DISA Storefront (DSF).
Experience in conducting customer outreach to ensure the accuracy of points of contact and other critical details.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00. The Leidos pay range for this role serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
