South Dakota Light The Night Event Day Volunteers

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by cancer. We would not be able to Light The Night without the help of our volunteers and encourage you to join us as we bring light to the darkness of cancer. Once you have signed up on Volunteer Match, a member of the LLS staff will reach out to find out more information about which roles you are interested in. Below are some examples of event day volunteer positions: set up hand out t-shirts hand out lanterns route monitor traffic control monitor kids zone (background check required and provided by LLS) and much more! Feel free to invite your family, friends, and coworkers to help as well. Our walks are growing each year and we can always use the extra help! Whether you are able to volunteer for a little bit or for the whole day or evening, we have a spot for you. Private Group Details: Group Size Range: 1 - 50+ Event can be held at organization location(s) Donation Requested 4 shifts available: Help set up event space (signage, tents, stage, banners, etc.): Saturday September 20, 2025 - 08:00 to 12:00 CST Event setup, lantern assembly, booth setup, etc.: Saturday September 20, 2025 - 12:00 to 17:00 CST Work tents (lantern/t-shirt, remembrance area, selfie station, etc), greeters, route volunteer, etc.: Saturday September 20, 2025 - 17:00 to 20:00 CST Clean up (breakdown tents, clean up park, put things back on moving truck, etc.): Saturday September 20, 2025 - 20:00 to 22:00 CST
