Responsibilities Position Summary The Director of Facilities Management leads strategic and operational initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations across SCA Healths ambulatory surgery centers and support sites. This role is responsible for facilities planning, engineering, security, environmental services, and disaster recovery. The Director drives enterprise-wide strategy and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with patient care and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Develop and support systems and processes focused on maintaining ASC-specific facility operations.

Ensure environment of care and life safety compliance with TJC, AAAHC, CMS, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies.

Manage departmental and capital budgets, focusing on energy efficiency and cost control.

Implement and monitor safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and security systems.

Coordinate minor construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.

Utilize modern tools such as Brightly or other CMMS, IoT monitoring, and building automation systems.

Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and service agreements.

Develop and track KPIs, including facility uptime, compliance scores, and staff engagement.

Job Level Description: Operations & Maintenance: Provides expertise and direction to support daily operations and long-term maintenance of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and groundskeeping.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the facility meets all federal, state, and Joint Commission (TJC) requirements for health, safety, and environmental standards.

Budget Management: Developing and managing departmental budgets, including those for capital projects and energy efficiency

Project Management: Coordinating and supervising construction, renovation, and development of the physical facilities.

Vendor & Contract Management: Negotiating and managing contracts with external vendors for services and supplies.

Strategic Planning: Planning and prioritizing activities to align with the facility's operational goals and regulatory standards.

Team Leadership: Ability to lead and build teams and manage cross-functional projects

Qualifications Education: Undergraduate degree preferably in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business, or Health Care Administration. -or- Certification as a Certified Health Care Facility Manager (CHFM) credential from the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) and equivalent experience

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including 5 years of management experience, with a proven track record in facilities management within an acute care hospital or similar healthcare setting.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of facility equipment, building systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC), and engineering principles.

Knowledge of Healthcare Regulations: Familiarity with healthcare-specific standards and regulations from bodies like TJC, AAAHC, CMS, and OSHA.

Technical Proficiency:

Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Comfortable with building control systems, work order management applications, project management, and preventive maintenance applications.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
