Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is needed to provide maternity leave coverage in a school setting located in Kentwood, Michigan. This full-time, temporary contract offers an exceptional opportunity to support student emotional and social development while gaining valuable experience in school-based social work.

In this role, you will engage with students, parents, and school staff to address challenges that may impact academic success. Your efforts will promote a positive and supportive environment that fosters student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop targeted intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and school personnel to support students social-emotional needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for acute student needs.
  • Educate students and staff on mental health and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and progress.
  • Facilitate communication between the school, families, and community resources to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Active Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license in Michigan.
  • Experience working in school-based settings or with children and adolescents.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, 504 Plans, and relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to manage diverse student needs in a fast-paced environment.
