Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is sought for a full-time, temporary maternity leave coverage position in a school setting located in Kentwood, Michigan. This role offers the chance to contribute directly to students emotional, social, and behavioral development during critical stages of their academic journey.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and group counseling to support students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Conducting assessments to identify needs and create tailored intervention plans.
  • Collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop strategies that promote student well-being.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
  • Offering crisis intervention and immediate support to students experiencing acute difficulties.
  • Educating students and staff on social-emotional skills and mental health awareness.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of services and student progress.
  • Facilitating communication between families, school personnel, and community agencies to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Active LMSW license in Michigan.
  • Experience in school-based social work or working with pediatric populations.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and 504 Plan regulations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to manage a dynamic school environment and diverse student needs.
