Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is needed to provide maternity leave coverage in a school setting in Kentwood, Michigan. This full-time, temporary position offers the chance to work closely with students, parents, and school staff to support students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, helping to foster a positive educational environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions addressing social, emotional, and behavioral issues
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to implement strategies that support student well-being
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans as appropriate
  • Provide crisis intervention and ongoing support for students facing acute difficulties
  • Educate students and staff on social-emotional skills and promote mental health awareness
  • Maintain detailed documentation of services rendered and monitor student progress
  • Facilitate communication between the school, families, and community agencies to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
  • Active LMSW licensure in Michigan
  • Experience in school-based social work or working with pediatric populations
  • Knowledge of IDEA, 504 Plans, and relevant federal and state special education regulations
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to manage diverse student needs in a dynamic school setting
