As the Data Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting independent data analyses and managing data to enable timely completion of federal, state, and other reporting requirements. You will assist DEED in the implementation of a common exit for its Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act workforce programs and the creation of a new, joined federal performance file. You will help to build a data lake that will bring together the data sets from multiple DEED systems that track data for customers of its workforce programs. This lake will be foundational to its highest priority information technology (IT) project to replace its labor exchange, MinnesotaWorks.net. To complete your assigned tasks, you will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, representatives of the agency, members of the public, employment counselors, and training providers. We are looking for a passionate advocate for DEED stakeholders and customer base who loves relationship building, consensus creation, and fun. This position will be based out of the St. Paul office. This position is telework eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs. This position is expected to last two (2) years. Minimum Qualifications

Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position. Two (2) years of experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Power BI, including knowledge in writing new SQL scripts, translating Boolean-style logic into SQL script, and editing existing SQL scripts, etc. Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following: Data management experience such as gathering data, cleaning and transforming data into readable format for analysis, and translating business requirements into technical requirements. Experience in data visualization and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience drafting memos, creating and delivering presentations, and explaining complex information to diverse audiences. Experience using Python. Experience using SparkSQL. Experience working with diverse stakeholders to maintain collaborative, trusting relationships. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
