Locums Gastroenterology Opportunity - West Jordan, Utah

Clinical Role:

  • Coverage dates:

  • January 2026 - 5 days

  • February 2026 - 5 days

  • March 2026 - 5 days

  • Ongoing dates beginning April 2026

  • Coverage need: 7 shifts per month total (shared among locums)

  • Schedule: 24-hour call coverage, 7a-7a

  • Setting: Inpatient, call coverage at two sites concurrently

  • Trauma Level: III

  • Duties: Primarily EGD, with colonoscopy and additional procedures as scheduled

  • Procedures:

  • EGD & Colonoscopy - 30 minutes each

  • PEG Tube Placement - 1 hour

  • Double Balloon Enteroscopy / Push Enteroscopy - 2 hours

  • Typical volume: 4-5 procedures per call shift

  • Support staff: MA, RN, Echo Tech, Lab Tech, Nuclear Tech, X-ray Tech

  • Anesthesia support provided in the OR

  • Reason for coverage: gaps in provider schedule

  • EMR: EPIC (with required training: online modules, EUPA test, and scheduled virtual training at least 1 week before start date)

    Candidate Requirements:

    • Board Certified in Gastroenterology (required)

    • Gastroenterology fellowship (required)

    • Active Utah medical license (highly preferred)

    • Active DEA (required; site will consider transferred DEA, but must remain active during assignment)

    • Active BLS (required for credentialing)
