Gastroenterology Physician

Coverage need: 7 shifts per month total (shared among locums)

Schedule: 24-hour call coverage, 7a-7a

Setting: Inpatient, call coverage at two sites concurrently

Trauma Level: III

Duties: Primarily EGD, with colonoscopy and additional procedures as scheduled

Procedures:

EGD & Colonoscopy - 30 minutes each

PEG Tube Placement - 1 hour

Double Balloon Enteroscopy / Push Enteroscopy - 2 hours

Typical volume: 4-5 procedures per call shift

Support staff: MA, RN, Echo Tech, Lab Tech, Nuclear Tech, X-ray Tech

Anesthesia support provided in the OR

Reason for coverage: gaps in provider schedule

EMR: EPIC (with required training: online modules, EUPA test, and scheduled virtual training at least 1 week before start date)

Candidate Requirements:

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (required)

• Gastroenterology fellowship (required)

• Active Utah medical license (highly preferred)

• Active DEA (required; site will consider transferred DEA, but must remain active during assignment)

• Active BLS (required for credentialing)
