Overview

Utah Housing Corporation, located in West Valley City, Utah, is seeking a detail-oriented full-time Accountant to join our Financial Services team and help ensure the financial integrity of our organization.

Working under the direction of the Financial Services leadership team, this position assists with routine accounting functions of the Corporation and plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial systems. The Accountant prepares and reconciles accounting reports, develops and interprets financial statements, and presents or explains work during audits or other reviews. This position requires a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, as well as the ability to navigate and utilize computerized finance and banking systems with a high degree of skill and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine accounting functions of the Corporation and support the Financial Services team in maintaining financial integrity.
  • Prepare and reconcile accounting reports; develop and interpret financial statements; present or explain work during audits or other reviews.
  • Prepare journal entries, review and reconcile financial transactions, process accounts payable, and ensure timely and accurate payments and transfers.
  • Support audit preparation, monthly and quarterly general ledger entries, and reconciliations with the MSP servicing system.
  • Review financial issues within the unit; analyze information from various sources, identify patterns or trends, and provide accurate reporting to support decision-making and compliance with policies and GAAP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; at least two years of full-time paid professional accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and practice; ability to work with spreadsheets and banking functions.
  • Capability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive pay range of $50,800 to $66,000 per year.
