The City of Dearborn is seeking an Electrician responsible for journeyman-level electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work for City buildings and structures.

Base pay range

$65,244.00/yr - $85,544.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring systems, fixtures, transformers, switches, and related equipment and systems in City buildings and structures.
• Tests electrical components and determines repair needs; performs repairs as needed.
• Prepares estimates for time and material costs associated with daily work.
• Maintains records of completed work.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.

Physical Requirements

Positions require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Very Heavy Work may be required (exerting >100 pounds occasionally, >50 pounds frequently, or >20 pounds constantly). Occasional exposure to mechanical parts, limited lighting, restricted workspace, and travel.

Experience And Training / Licensing Requirements

Four-year electrical apprentice program; or Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience; or all required certifications and 3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience capable of performing essential duties.

Necessary Licensing Requirements

• Journeyman Electrician License
• Valid State of Michigan Commercial Driver's License Class B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Aerial Platform Certification
• Confined Space Training
• Work Zone Safety Certification
• Level I Traffic Signal Technician

Must Acquire within 6 months of hire: Valid State of Michigan Commercial Driver's License Class B with Air Brake Endorsement, Aerial Platform Certification, Confined Space Training, Work Zone Safety Training.

Must Acquire within 2 years of hire: Level I Traffic Signal Technician.
