Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist will provide hands-on support to managers and employees in all areas of HR. This role will be involved in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and training. The ideal candidate is a resourceful, approachable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated to make an impact. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the Director of Talent Management for all day-to-day operations of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs New Hire Orientations. Ensures that coworker has all items needed for employment, paperwork is processed and follows through to ensure that all benefits are being reflected properly.
- Administration of benefit programs such as health, dental, life, and disability insurances, including enrolling, terminating and modifying coworker benefit Serves as the primary contact for coworkers regarding benefit questions or requirements.
- Assists in recruiting through advertising, career fairs, social media, industry groups and other recruiting sources. Coordinates activities required during recruiting and interviewing process.
- Works directly with the General Superintendent and Project Superintendents to maintain, organize and facilitate Hourly Reviews for field coworkers.
- Maintain personnel files, and reporting. Act as a resource to employees regarding HR programs, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS management systems and basic MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Maintains compliance with all Federal, State and local employment laws and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in construction or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems a plus.
