Director of Development and Community Engagement Position Overview The Director of Development and Community Engagement plays a key leadership role in creating and driving fundraising efforts and strengthening community relationships for Pepin Academies. This role oversees all fundraising campaigns, donor engagement strategies, and community outreach initiatives, and reports directly to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, a strategic thinker and skilled relationship-builder who thrives on creating meaningful partnerships and driving impact. About Pepin Academies Pepin Academies are tuition-free public charter schools serving students in grades 312 with learning and learning-related disabilities. With campuses across Hillsborough and Pasco County, and over 25 years of operation, Pepin Academies provides a supportive, therapeutic, educational environment designed to meet the unique needs of over 1,150 students. Our accredited system of distinction is celebrated for its therapeutic, inclusive model that enables academic, social, and life outcomes not often achievable in traditional schools. Key Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Design, manage, and evaluate all non-campus-specific fundraising initiatives, donor campaigns, and community engagement efforts. Build and grow partnerships with individuals, foundations, and corporate supporters throughout the Tampa Bay community, including opportunities for community engagement and income growth. Collaborate with the Executive Director on Board engagement, fundraising initiatives, special projects, and annual giving strategies Lead the planning and execution of events and campaigns, ensuring they align with Pepin Academies mission and values. Serve as the main point of contact for fundraising inquiries and represent the organization at all relevant events and activities. Supervise the Grant Administrator and help direct volunteers and interns as needed. Coordinate event logistics, including volunteer recruitment and training, securing sponsorships, and managing in-kind donations. Work with the Executive Assistant to keep event websites updated and create compelling social media content. Act as liaison with event committees and school PTOs. Process and track donations; ensure all donors receive timely and appropriate acknowledgments. Support donor stewardship through targeted communications and appreciation events. Monitor progress on grants, event revenue, and outreach goals; provide regular reports to the Executive Director and related committees. Maintain accurate fundraising and donor data within the organizations CRM and prepare financial summaries for events. Conduct post-campaign reviews to identify successes, challenges, and lessons learned. What Were Looking For Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree preferred, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in development, fundraising, or community engagement. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Preferred Skills & Experience Strong connections in the Tampa Bay area are a plus. Proven experience leading fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Highly collaborative, service-oriented team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
