About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its senior leadership team. The CFO will be responsible for the strategic and operational financial management of the organization, with a focus on supporting long-term growth in fisheries, quota management, vessel operations, and seafood markets. This key role involves overseeing all financial activities, including financial and investment strategy, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal and external financial reporting. The successful candidate will also be involved in presenting complex financial information to various stakeholders and will play a critical part in the company's operational excellence.
Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. A CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus. A minimum of ten years of senior finance experience is required, ideally with a background in fishing, seafood, maritime, native corporations, or CDQ groups. The role demands a strong knowledge of finance, banking, accounting, and business processes, as well as proficiency in financial systems and software. The CFO will be expected to lead the annual budgeting process, develop long-term financial forecasts, and provide financial insights on major investments and acquisitions. Experience in vessel operations, quota systems, or seafood processing economics is highly desirable. The candidate should also have excellent communication skills, a high regard for accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills.
