Job Overview:

This position operates imaging devices, computers, ECG units, laboratory equipment, dose calibrator, and radiation survey instruments. The successful candidate will perform scintigraphic scanning as prescribed by physician, image manipulation, and quantitative studies, archiving patient studies on computer and quality control studies. Key responsibilities include preparing radioactive and non-radioactive materials for patient doses, ensuring availability of proper doses for patients, performing quality control and maintenance procedures for scanning, maintaining quality control and wipe survey statistics, consulting with physicians, showing images and/or computer patient studies to radiologist and/or cardiologist, providing physicians with quality data for interpretation, administering diagnostic or therapeutic radiopharmaceutical/pharmaceuticals through various routes to patient under direction of physician, and demonstrating sensitivity to physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, providing appropriate patient education, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and overall patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Associate's Degree required. The ideal candidate must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine Technology or with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT). ODH Radiologic License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist is also required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential. The candidate should have familiarity with all aspects of a fully-equipped Nuclear Medicine department and extensive knowledge of handling, administering radioactive materials, and nuclear instrumentation.
