Location: Jefferson Valley, part of Optum. 3680 Hill Blvd. Second Floor, Jefferson Valley, NY 10535

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:30 pm. Rotating Saturdays 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Schedule determined by the hiring manager upon hire.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Obtain accurate and updated patient information (name, address, insurance information)
  • Perform insurance verification on the date of service
  • Schedule appointments and procedures in an organized and efficient manner; confirm and schedule appointments
  • Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls promptly and courteously
  • Perform referral documentation promptly
  • Follow up on patient needs, such as scheduling specialist appointments, follow-up appointments and obtaining copies of lab results or specialist reports
  • Adhere to Optum Employee Policies via Sparq
  • Collaborate with team to achieve goals; maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and OSHA requirements
  • Work in a fast-paced environment; participate in planning, coordinating and implementing care with the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems; provide effective communication to patients, families and health care professionals
  • Comply with administrative policies to support quality care
  • Crosstrain and assist at other locations as needed; travel to additional offices as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience
  • Intermediate computer proficiency (multitasking across applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Ability to cover other offices if needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years in a front office medical role (scheduling, check-in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, maintaining medical records)
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EPIC)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, and experience. In addition to salary, a comprehensive benefits package and incentive programs are offered. The hourly pay range for this role is $16.00 to $27.69 per hour for full-time employment. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
