Position Overview
Corporate Transactional Attorney (Senior Counsel or Partner) – Location: St. Louis, Missouri (Hybrid - 4 days in-office, 1 day remote). Position Type: Full-Time. Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000 base salary (DOE) + 15% origination on client billings. Experience Level: Mid to Senior Level; Partner title considered for candidates with an established book of business. A well-regarded St. Louis-based law firm is seeking a Corporate Transactional Attorney to join its business law team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in corporate and commercial transactional work and possess a partial book of business. The position offers flexibility in title — Senior Counsel or Partner — depending on the candidate's level of experience and client base. Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on a wide range of business matters, including entity formation, contract drafting and negotiation, risk mitigation, and general counsel services Handle a variety of corporate and commercial transactions for small to mid-sized businesses Maintain and develop client relationships, including growing a personal book of business Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver holistic legal solutions Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and firm development initiatives Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Licensed to practice in Missouri, or eligible for admission via reciprocity 10+ years of corporate/commercial legal experience, ideally in a law firm environment Demonstrated ability to manage matters independently and serve as lead counsel on transactions Portable book of business (target: $250K+ preferred) Excellent drafting, analytical, and client service skills Experience in real estate, employment, or regulatory compliance considered an asset Compensation & Benefits
