Primary Responsibilities
The Capital Project Buyer will be responsible for performing work related to planning and organizing capital projects related to manufacturing and infrastructure projects. Duties include working on new projects in coordination with other departments, helping to develop scope and budget, creating RFQs, creating and submitting CARs, negotiating, ensuring legal compliance and contract review, coordinating manufacturing, installation, and commissioning activities, and performing updates on general design standards. Work is performed with general direction, working from broad goals and policies.

Assist with the equipment sourcing decisions based on pre-determined criteria
Negotiate cost, terms, and legal/risk mitigation
Ensure compliance with legal terms and exercise settlement rights due to contract breaches
Qualify and source equipment suppliers
Assist with supplier selection and negotiation for facility services
Qualify suppliers and perform supplier audits
Track and report cost and contract terms negotiations
Conduct training for other departments in negotiation tactics
Cut POs in XA and SAP

Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field
Some travel (20%+) will be required. Some international travel.
Project management training and/or experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and project management software.
Strong independent analytical skills
Experience with budgeting, strategic planning, project management, and project financial analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior equipment purchasing experience
Strong knowledge of capital equipment, construction processes, and trades
Some CAD experience
Legal contract knowledge
