IT Systems Engineer Description

We are seeking a qualified IT Desktop Engineer to support workstations and related software applications. The IT Desktop Engineer is expected to deliver excellent customer service to the business, exhibiting leadership competencies and leading through positive influence. This role requires a deep understanding and experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows desktops, software, applications, WAN/LAN networks, and printers. The qualified candidate will focus efforts on planning, forecasting, and implementing new system hardware and software, including the retirement of existing systems and components. The ideal candidate must be self-directed, a fast learner, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team. They should be flexible enough to work on modern systems or legacy components to understand all the pieces that should align correctly to support a large enterprise development team. The qualified candidate should occasionally be able to provide support 24/7 and rotate weekends on-call with the current team and expect to be onsite 5 days a week. Job Responsibilities

Explain technical IT terminologies and concepts of development tools to users and resolve related issues. Manage physical to virtual workstations. Provisioning and de-provisioning users for tool access, including adding/removing users to project server resources. Create CRQ, WO, and INC in Remedy for errors/issues/failures. Facilitate meetings with internal and client teams for server and application upgrades. Create CRQs in Remedy for support from Network, Unix, or other teams. Manage binaries for IDEs and related components for Git development. Familiarity with Git development tools. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Apple, Client, and UFT applications. Handle subscriptions for Windows and Linux server licenses and renewals. Resolve Unix (RHEL and Ubuntu) issues. Communicate tool failures and provide workarounds or ETAs. Support developer workstations and tools across teams. Create training, installation, and process documentation for users. Support annual desktop and system audits. Plan, test, and implement upgrades to Unix, Windows, and MySQL databases. Upgrade software fix packs to OS and support backup of MySQL databases. Support Windows 11 upgrades and imaging tools. Conduct inventory assessments of servers, desktops, laptops, and network devices. Contribute to continuous improvement in project quality and processes. Perform root cause analysis and break-fix for software tools. Manage email distribution lists and internal SharePoint Wiki. Seniority level
