Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an experienced Senior Social Worker within the Localities Team to work full time based in Brent.

The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker role is up to £49,355 per annum.

  1. Work independently to manage a complex caseload, ensuring responsibilities align with your knowledge and skills. Work directly with children, young people, and families, involving key family members and prioritizing children and young people's safety. Use Signs of Safety methodology to collaborate with families, empower them to find solutions, and adhere to Children’s Services policies, procedures, and standards.
  2. Conduct in-depth family assessments focusing on social needs, risks to children, parental capacity, and ability to change.
  3. Recognize harm and risk indicators related to sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, neglect, and other risks such as Child Sexual Exploitation, grooming, female genital mutilation, enforced marriage, and potential for children to be perpetrators of abuse.
  4. Utilize reflective supervision, research, and guidance to recognize your professional limitations and seek advice from senior staff, including Advanced Practitioners and other disciplines. Work with support systems like supervision, mentoring, and co-working.
  5. Navigate the family and youth justice system in England, using legal powers to support families, protect children, and manage children in the care system. Participate in legal decisions, including court applications and evidence preparation.
  6. Seek professional advice on legal issues, interventions, and plans impacting children, young people, and families involved with statutory services.
  7. Apply law, regulatory, and statutory guidance to inform practice, considering the ethical, legal, and social policy context.
  8. Develop realistic, child-centered plans within review timelines to manage risks and meet children's needs. Ensure plans are evidence-informed, demonstrate analysis and judgment, and involve multi-agency collaboration.
  9. Continuously enhance knowledge of child development, including physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral aspects, and understand the impact of parenting styles, mental health, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and disabilities on children and families.
  10. Understand working within complex organizations like Local Authorities or Trusts, protecting the reputation of Northamptonshire County Council and the social work profession, and contributing to the organization’s role as a corporate parent.

Requirements for this Senior Social Worker role:

  • A recognized Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
