Job Responsibilities
Provides social work services to patients, their families, and/or significant others through counseling, emotional support, assisting with environmental needs, crisis intervention, and group leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure
- For West Virginia Locations: Master's Degree in Social Work or related field; Licenses (LGSW, LCSW, LICSW) through West Virginia Board of Social Work.
- For Ohio Locations: Master's Degree in Social Work or related field; Licenses (LSW, LISW, LISW-S) through Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
- For Maryland Locations: Master's Degree in Social Work or related field; Licenses (LGSW, LCSW, LISW-C) through Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.
- For Pennsylvania Locations: Master's Degree in Social Work or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Case Management.
- For Pennsylvania Locations: Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker through Pennsylvania Department of State.
Experience: Two (2) years' social work experience.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
The following are general responsibilities and may include other duties:
- Provide psychosocial assessments to identify strengths and problems related to diagnosis, illness, treatment, and life situation.
- Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team led by a physician.
- Develop and implement treatment plans using evidence-based interventions, including crisis and solution-focused brief interventions.
- Screen, educate, and provide therapy for various presenting problems, including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, trauma, and autism spectrum disorders.
- Offer consultative services within scope of care and maintain knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues.
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment, and adaptation issues.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and serve as a liaison with patients and families.
- Formulate discharge plans starting from admission.
- Coordinate with community agencies to assist patients and families.
- Facilitate group therapy and provide individual therapy as ordered.
- Maintain documentation according to policies and standards.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Basic computer skills.
