Job Description: Position Summary: The Payroll Specialist administers the Firm's attorney and staff payroll processes and procedures. This position performs and reviews routine data entry and processing for pay rates, hours reports, tax filings, and general ledger (GL) entries. The Payroll Specialist works under minimal supervision and relies on experience and judgment to perform the essential functions of the job. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Prepare and audit comprehensive attorney and staff payroll files for review, approval, and processing Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve employee inquiries for payroll related matters Prepare a variety of ad-hoc and scheduled reports with earnings, deductions, taxes and other payroll detail Create routine general ledger (GL) and journal entries including payroll expense coding and descriptions Manage accurate and timely entry of individual and payroll data into ADP Workforce Now, including tax forms, direct deposit details, timesheets, and paydata files across multiple pay cycles. Maintain and update payroll-related records in the Firm's intranet and updates overtime hours in the 3E client billing system. Ensure compliance of payroll data processing and recordkeeping with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations Draft, review, and approve payroll business process and standard operating procedure (SOP) documents and prepare related training and reference materials Maintain proper coding and configuration of the Firm's payroll processing software Complete requests to verify employment and earnings details Job Specifications: At least three (3) year of related work experience Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word Bachelor's degree preferred ADP Workforce Now and Workday experience preferred ADP Reporting and Workday reporting experience preferred Knowledge of payroll processing software Familiarity with federal, state, and local wage and hour and payroll tax laws and regulations Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail skills Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities Ability to handle and maintain confidential information Successful candidates will be provided with outstanding career opportunities and will receive a competitive total rewards package with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses. Target Hiring Range $67,000 - $84,000 Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
