Medical Assistant Floater
This is a Medical Assistant Floater position for multiple locations, including Sanford PA, West Volusia, First Choice Deltona, and First Choice Sanford. The role requires flexibility, dedication, and professionalism. The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. Responsibilities
Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Support clinician and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management. Work in various offices to support in either the Medical Assistant role or dedicated Lab role. Report laboratory results to healthcare clinicians and alert them of any critical or out-of-range values, documenting critical reports. Prepare specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information. Perform and document daily/weekly/monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance. Document patient's intake vitals, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate, and notify clinicians of any abnormal findings. Interview patients based on age appropriateness and/or specialty needs, accurately documenting and updating medical records. Obtain necessary medical records and diagnostic results for clinician review and treatment follow-up. Essential Skills
Medical assisting Phlebotomy Active BLS certification Active and valid driver's license Experience with electronic health records Knowledge of medical terminology and appointment scheduling Ability to perform patient education and insurance verification Additional Skills & Qualifications
MA Diploma/Certification or a minimum of 3 years of MA experience Proficiency in triage, pediatric care, and internal medicine Experience in blood draw and patient vitals Front desk and data entry skills Bilingual abilities are an advantage Work Environment
This is a patient-facing role requiring indoor work, operating computers, and exposure to typical healthcare hazards. The position demands manual dexterity and the ability to lift/carry 10 lbs. or less. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturdays from 7:45 am to 12:30 pm on a rotational basis. Job Type & Location
