Back Office Float Medical Assistant
The back office float medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role involves supporting clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant is also responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Responsibilities: Support clinician and care management teams in patient assessments and chronic disease management. Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Assist with examining and treating patients. Maintain electronic health records accurately. Provide excellent customer service in a healthcare setting. Communicate effectively with patients, employees, and the public. Assess emergencies and act accordingly. Float between locations as required to meet patient queue demands. Essential Skills: Medical assisting experience in a clinic/back office healthcare setting for at least 2 years. Phlebotomy experience is required. Ability to take vitals, with preference for manual vitals. Active BLS certification. Valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications: High School diploma is required. MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Experience with TriMed EMR is preferred. Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements and universal precaution procedures. Ability to maintain organized and effective working relationships. Work Environment: The position is 100% onsite in a medical office clinic. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 10 am to 7 pm, with every other Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm. This role offers a permanent opportunity with travel compensation for floating between clinics, and additional compensation for floating outside of core locations. Training on manual vitals is available. Flexibility to adjust to a changing work environment is essential. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $36931.44 - $52157.56/yr.
