Medical Assistant Floater

This Medical Assistant Floater position involves working in multiple locations, including Sanford PA, West Volusia, First Choice Deltona, and First Choice Sanford. The role requires flexibility, dedication, and professionalism. The primary function is to provide quality team-based patient care under the supervision of a clinician, performing both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The position involves laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, such as venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Responsibilities

Perform laboratory testing procedures and report results to a healthcare clinician. Alert the healthcare clinician of any critical or out-of-range values and document critical reports. Perform phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Prepare specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information. Perform and document daily/weekly/monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance. Document patient intake vitals including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate, and notify the clinician of any abnormal findings. Interview patients based on age appropriateness and specialty needs, updating medical records with accurate documentation. Obtain necessary medical records, consultation notes, diagnostic and laboratory results for clinician review and follow-up. Essential Skills

Medical assisting skills with a diploma or certification, or a minimum of 3 years MA experience. Active BLS certification. Proficiency in phlebotomy and laboratory procedures. Active and valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with electronic health records and appointment scheduling. Knowledge of insurance verification, triage, and patient education. Experience in internal medicine, family medicine, and pediatrics. Bilingual abilities are a plus. Strong data entry skills and experience with front desk operations. Work Environment

This is a patient-facing role requiring indoor work. The position involves operating a computer and exposure to certain hazards. The work requires reaching outward and above the shoulder, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift or carry up to 10 lbs. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with rotational Saturday shifts up to two times per month from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Job Type & Location

The pay range for this position is $33196.00 - $46883.00/yr.
