The position requires a strong interest and proficiency in Nordic skiing with knowledge of all facility operations, lesson programs, ticketing, ski rentals, and retail procedures. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Opening and closing duties of daily business and facilities. Efficient and accurate performance of all ticket, cashier, and office functions. Lesson Program sales. Monitoring of ticket stock and office supplies. Ensuring accurate pricing, security, and merchandising of retail inventory. Daily inspections and oversight of rental equipment repairs and maintenance. Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the Lodge facility, contacting Lodge Services and Building Maintenance when required. Handling and coordinating all incidents, contacting emergency personnel when required. Gracious and effective handling of all guest and employee concerns and problems. Communicating with the Nordic Manager regarding safety issues, operational needs, staffing, and personnel issues. Secondary Function Training new employees in department procedures. Assist with Nordic Center event planning and execution as directed by the Manager. Job Scope Assist in the daily operations of a nationally recognized Nordic ski operation, 56 km groomed trail network maintained daily from November through May with Ticket, Retail, Rental, Event, Lesson Program, and F&B operations. Assist in training, motivating, and creating a safe workplace for 40 paid employees and 12 volunteers. Interpersonal Contacts Resort Leadership Team, Marketing, Group Sales, IT Dept, Public Safety, Ticket Sales, Lodge Services, F&B, Accounting, HR, Mountain Patrol, Rentals, MBSEF, Facilities Maintenance, Grooming, & Receiving. Specific Job Skills License/Certifications: None required, OLCC and OR Food Handler's cards preferred. Technical: Current and proficient computer skills, cash handling, use of waxing irons, scrapers, drills, hand tools, shovels, axe, splitting maul, & ice chipper. Physical Capabilities: Able to stand for long periods of time. Reach, lift, push, pull, and perform outdoor chores in inclement weather. Able to Nordic ski at an intermediate level. Additional: Knowledge of and proficiency in Nordic skiing. Guest service skills. Education/Related Experience Minimum education required: None, ability to follow and give directions Minimum time in related position: 1+ year in a guest service-based position, Nordic setting preferred.
