Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist position is responsible for creating and sending invoices for roofing projects, processing client payments, pursuing accounts that are past due, maintaining accounting records and ledgers, and reconciling accounts to ensure accurate financial data and a healthy cash flow. Specific tasks will include processing AIA billing forms and 702 Forms, as well as collaborating with internal sales teams and clients. Responsibilities: Prepare and submit invoices for completed work orders and contract jobs. Process industry-specific billing forms like AIA (American Institute of Architects). Ensure accuracy and adherence to financial policies and procedures. Receive and process customer payments, including cash, checks, and electronic transfers. Initiate and manage collection efforts for past-due accounts by contacting clients and sending statements. Monitor accounts for aging and potential issues. Prepare and deliver reports on the status of accounts receivable to management. Essential Skills: Proficiency in accounting and finance principles. Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and V-lookups. Strong skills in accounts receivable and collection practices. Excellent customer service skills. Professional communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Textura. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Attention to detail is crucial. Organizational skills are essential. Industry-specific knowledge in commercial roofing, billing, reporting, and submittals. Familiarity with construction invoicing, such as AIA billing and 702 forms. Work Environment: The work schedule is from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Job Type & Location: This is a contract to hire position based out of Melrose Park, Illinois. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $34.61 - $36.53/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
