Student Worker

The selected incumbent must be available to work 15-20 hours per week and must be a full-time high school student, at least 16 years old, or a college student pursuing a degree in any major field of study. Students must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.), and have good oral and written communication skills. Pay will be hourly and will be based upon the student's level within their program. Eligibility for employment as a student worker requires the individual to be enrolled in full-time status at a high school, age 16 or over, or be enrolled in full-time status at an accredited college or university. Necessary skills are listed below: Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic ability to use Microsoft Word Detail oriented Willingness to learn new tasks and handle multiple tasks Ability to handle confidential matters Ability to work independently within departmental policies and guidelines Excellent communication skills Integrity, punctuality and dependability The duties of the student worker may include, but are not limited to the following: Answer and direct phone calls Log and route mail Assist with special projects, as directed Assist in the filing/storing of records May assist and/or work with networks, phone systems, and website development This announcement may be used to fill several vacancies within the Department of Public Safety.
