Amplity . Remote Field—US Based. The Opportunity: Our client provides a collaborative network in support of an innovative pipeline across therapeutic areas including inflammation. The function of the Medical Science Liaison, Team Lead is to support the MSL team’s goals by executing Clinical Development programs, building connections to the external medical community, and communicating scientific/clinical information while collecting insights to enhance strategic objectives. The role supports activities across Medical Affairs and Clinical Development objectives for the client’s portfolio. You will serve as both an MSL with your own territory and the MSL team leader, managing the overall MSL team. You will interact with clinical trial sites across development programs and collaborate with Medical Affairs to engage opinion leaders and communicate non-promotional scientific information across therapeutic areas.

What You Will Do

Management of the MSL Team:

Under the direction of the head of medical outreach and engagement, collaborate with team members from medical affairs, clinical development, and clinical operations to build and execute the overall MSL plan. The role covers Clinical Trial Support, Scientific Expertise, Opinion Leader Engagement, Cross-Functional Support, and Compliance, and carries responsibilities for the team’s functions within the assigned territory.

Clinical Trial Support:

Serve as the primary interface between the client and clinical trial sites across development programs. Advise and participate in the planning and setup of clinical studies for the assigned region, coordinating with local CD/Clinical Operations/CRO colleagues to ensure alignment and execution at sites.

Scientific Expertise:

Develop deep scientific expertise across therapeutic areas (including inflammatory bowel disease) and act as a scientifically credible leader and collaborative partner.

Opinion Leader Engagement:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators, and study staff within the assigned region.

Cross-Functional Support:

Provide scientific support to Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Commercial and other cross-functional colleagues to execute key strategies. Support activities including scientific congresses, advisory boards, and speaker programs; share insights with cross-functional teams.

Compliance:

Operate in a highly ethical manner and comply with all laws, regulations, and policies.

What We Expect

A terminal degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) preferred or a master’s degree from an accredited institution required.

Experience managing people is required.

Experience managing an MSL team is preferred.

Biotech experience is a plus.

Fluent in English is required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present medical/scientific information clearly.

Adept at developing relationships and building networks.

Excellent organizational skills and a results-oriented mindset.

Ability to influence without authority and negotiate with confidence.

Ability to work independently and in a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Relevant therapeutic area knowledge, ideally inflammatory bowel diseases.

Experience with clinical trial design, conduct and evaluation.

Permanent residence within the assigned region.

Able to travel up to ~40-60% of the time.

Must successfully complete all Amplity and required client training.

Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Credentialing Requirements As a representative of a pharmaceutical company, you may be required to submit and maintain credentials, such as training, vaccinations, and other job-related documentation to gain access to hospitals or healthcare providers. The Company expects compliance with facility requirements on call plans. Some jurisdictions or hospital systems may require specific licenses. Currently, representatives working in the District of Columbia, City of Chicago, State of Nevada, State of Oregon, or with Jackson Memorial Health in Miami-Dade County, Florida may be required to obtain specific licenses. This list may change; you will be notified of significant changes.
