Overview
Working Title: Supervising Trial Court Staff Attorney - 22008178
Location: 18th Judicial Circuit Courts; Sanford, FL (this position may be partially remote)
Salary: $85,535 Annually

Responsibilities
Assist trial court judges by conducting legal research, preparing memoranda of law, drafting proposed orders, and attending court proceedings.
Focus primarily on criminal matters, including pretrial and trial motions; postconviction motions filed pursuant to rules 3.800, 3.801, 3.850, and 3.851; and inmate motions and petitions; may also include civil, family, and appellate matters.
Demonstrate proficiency in legal research, writing, proofreading, and citations; attention to detail; and the ability to analyze and comprehend statutes, rules, and procedures.
Communicate clearly in both oral and written form; prioritize and promptly complete assignments; and work effectively with others as well as independently.
Work under the direct supervision of General Counsel and contribute to training and supervision as appropriate.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Five years of experience in the practice of law or as a law clerk in an appellate or trial court, including at least two years of managerial, administrative, or supervisory experience.
Membership in Good Standing in The Florida Bar.
