Job Description Job Title: Dual Modality CT/DX TechnologistJob Specialty: Radiology - DiagnosticsJob Duration: Full-timeShift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday overnight - 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.Guaranteed Hours: 36 per weekExperience: Must have experience in both CT and Diagnostic RadiologyLicense: ARRT (CT/R)Certifications: BLSMust-Have: Experience with CT Scanners and Diagnostic RadiologyJob Description:- Perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.- Operate CT Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, including post-processing stations, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport, and patient monitoring equipment.- Verify and validate orders on each assigned patient, and consult with a Radiologist and ordering provider for any discrepancies.- Properly identify patients using two identifiers and assist them while providing a brief explanation of the procedures.- Prepare patients for procedures with full explanations and document on appropriate worksheets.- Interview patients to obtain a complete medical history and review electronic medical records to gather pertinent clinical history.- Record medical history on requisitions and correlate other test results and lab data with the exam being performed.- Take responsibility for the exam from beginning to end, including preparing and administering IV contrast as per protocols.- Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist when needed.- Recognize abnormal anatomy and process additional, reconstructed images, or measurements as instructed.- Inform nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiate life support measures when necessary.- Assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies.- Perform CT scanning and assist Radiologists/Physician Assistants during invasive procedures.- Practice proper sterile technique and adhere to infection control policies and procedures during invasive procedures.- Obtain medication or contrast material as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner.- Practice principles of radiation safety for oneself, colleagues, patients, and family members.- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering or radiology engineer.- Operate the radiology computer system, including entering orders and documenting procedures/supplies, and document contrast administration accurately.- Maintain assigned work areas in a neat and orderly fashion and assist other medical personnel such as anesthesia when needed.- Participate in quality and safety programs, enhancing patient satisfaction and engagement.For additional information about benefits, please refer to the company's compensation and benefits resources.
