Base pay range

Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of surface finishing and cutting technologies. They are a leading provider of innovative cutting and abrasive tooling and equipment, trusted by fabrication professionals in the ceramics, glass, metal, and stone industries.

The Position

Our client is looking for a tactical Human Resources Manager who will be integral in developing and managing HR functions for their North American operations. This is a high-impact role that will be crucial in implementing key policies and programs, including onboarding, payroll, talent management, benefits administration, employee relations, policy development, and compliance. This person will collaborate with executive leaders across various business units to create shared HR resources and foster a positive and inclusive workplace.

Primary responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of HR operations, including talent acquisition, retention, engagement, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain up-to-date policies and best practices.
  • Manage multi-state payroll and vendor relationships, ensuring timely, accurate processing and resolution of payroll or tax issues.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs (e.g. 401k, health insurance, open enrollment, leave administration), partnering with brokers and leadership to align plans with employee and business needs.
  • Develop onboarding and offboarding processes that support smooth transitions and positive employee experiences.
  • Guide managers on performance management, employee development, and employee relations, including coaching, documentation, and conflict resolution.
  • Support organizational transformation and restructuring by driving workforce planning, facilitating transparent communication, and promoting employee retention.
  • Partner with senior leadership to implement corporate initiatives and foster a culture of continuous feedback and improvement.

Qualifications and Candidate Background

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 7+ years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Experience within industrials, manufacturing, logistics/transportation, or related industry preferred.
  • Clear and professional communication with ability to build trust and community within an organization; a detail-oriented self-starter with strong time-management skills who can manage multiple projects and processes.

Location

This position is hybrid with weekly travel into the Hickory-Lenoir area.
