A growing and dynamic organization in New York is seeking a confidential hire for an experienced HR Generalist.
This position plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations with a focus on payroll administration, employee relations, benefits management, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage bi-weekly payroll in compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and recommending appropriate resolutions.
- Administer benefits programs, including open enrollment, employee communications, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. employment laws and payroll tax regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ACA, and IRS requirements.
- Support annual audits, reporting requirements, and records management related to payroll and benefits.
- Partner with management to implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and payroll systems.
- Own with onboarding, offboarding, and policy communication.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of HR experience, with direct experience in payroll processing, employee relations, and benefits administration.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. payroll and employment tax laws.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g. Workday, TriNet, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus but not required.
