$100,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

A growing and dynamic organization in New York is seeking a confidential hire for an experienced HR Generalist.

This position plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations with a focus on payroll administration, employee relations, benefits management, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage bi-weekly payroll in compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and recommending appropriate resolutions.
  • Administer benefits programs, including open enrollment, employee communications, and vendor coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. employment laws and payroll tax regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ACA, and IRS requirements.
  • Support annual audits, reporting requirements, and records management related to payroll and benefits.
  • Partner with management to implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Own with onboarding, offboarding, and policy communication.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of HR experience, with direct experience in payroll processing, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. payroll and employment tax laws.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g. Workday, TriNet, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus but not required.
