Description The Audio and Media Technologies Group (AMT) is looking for a creative, self motivated and dedicated software engineer to join the AirPlay team to help build the future foundations of AirPlay. Audio and Media Technologies (AMT) provides the media foundation across all of Apple's innovative products including iPhone, iPad, Mac, AppleTV, and operating systems. Combining ground breaking software techniques with next-generation hardware, AMT takes the media experience to the next level. Responsibilities
Prototype breakthrough ideas in AirPlay frameworks.
Develop new APIs for device discovery, connections, and media sharing.
Help define a standard for AirPlay features.
Influence overall systems design and help build the future of AirPlay.
Thrive in a fast-paced, versatile, team-oriented environment with strong communication, judgment, integrity and timely decision making.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong programming skills with C/C++.
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Familiarity with media playback fundamentals, audio and/or video streaming.
Preferred Qualifications
Solid understanding of multithreading and concurrency fundamentals.
OS X / Darwin experience is a major plus.
Objective-C and Swift experience is a plus.
Experience with A/V synchronization technology.
Experience in API design and maintenance.
Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. You’ll also receive benefits including: comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and educational expense reimbursement.
