The Senior Director, Government Services Business Development is a hands-on, action-oriented senior leadership role driving business development, capture management, and growth strategy across government markets. This role combines strategic vision with operational execution: managing the full opportunity lifecycle, leading capture efforts, maintaining the health and maintenance of the corporate BD CRM, collaborating on proposal development, and shaping the firm’s growth trajectory. The ideal candidate thrives in a small dynamic team environment and has a proven track record of winning contracts by combining relationship-building, disciplined process, and creative solutioning. Responsibilities

Growth & Market Leadership Define and implement the firm’s business development initiatives aligned with long-term objectives. Identify priority agencies, markets, and contract vehicles for strategic market expansion. Partner with executive leadership to refine service offerings, positioning, and differentiators. Capture Management & Opportunity Lifecycle Own the full lifecycle of business opportunities, from identification & qualification to award. Lead capture planning, competitive assessments, and teaming approaches. Maintain and advance a robust pipeline using CRM tools and industry market research. Lead gate reviews and drive disciplined bid/no-bid decisions with data-driven recommendations. Proposal Development & Oversight Collaborate with Proposal Manager on proposal development, ensuring compliance, clear win themes, and compelling storytelling. Coordinate solutioning with technical experts, pricing leads, and subcontractors. Provide hands-on support, including color team support and drafting key proposal sections when necessary. Relationship & Partnership Development Build and nurture trusted relationships with government clients, contracting officers, and partners. Develop and lead strategic relationships with primes, subs, and partners to expand capabilities. Oversee the firm’s external engagements (forums, trade shows, conferences, etc.) with select attendance to represent the company and elevate its visibility. Leadership & Teamwork Lead with tenacity and resilience, fostering a collaborative, fast-moving environment where teams succeed together. Build trust and accountability with a “we have your six” mindset, mentoring, supporting, and empowering colleagues and partners. What We Require

7–10 years of progressive business development experience, with a proven record of securing and growing government contracts. Government contracting experience, including knowledge of FAR and contract vehicles (IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs, etc.). Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding sales and growth goals. Strong expertise in capture management and proposal development, from pipeline building through award. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with government clients and industry partners. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. What We DESIRE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

Established business development background in the Intelligence Community (IC), supporting future firm growth areas. Deep knowledge of the Department of Defense -- U.S. Air Force (USAF) and the air domain, with subspecialties in aviation training and command & control (C2/C3BM/C5ISR). Knowledge of U.S. Navy (USN) domains with emphasis on naval aviation, with a strong professional network. Knowledge of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) focus areas. Proven success cultivating high-level relationships across defense communities to expand market reach. What We Offer
