Essential Duties
- Assists the IT coordinator in the following day to day functions:
- Set up of desktops, laptops, hardware, and software.
- Resolution of technical issues.
- Software installations, troubleshooting, and software related issues.
- Responds to help desk requests.
- Maintains a basic knowledge and understand of the systems that are maintained by the IT Coordinator and assist with those functions as needed.
- Assists with implementing IT projects.
- Manages city cell phone plans; sets up new service for new employees as well as order replacements for lost or damaged devices; works with accounts payable to keep up to date billing records.
- Provides technical assistance to various departments as needed.
- Maintains accurate documentation of help desk processes and procedures along with documentation for IT in each department.
- Assists IT Coordinator with updating and maintaining hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Assists the IT Coordinator with technology consultants, vendors, and other agencies.
- Acts as help desk and technical support analyst for any and all user requests/requirements; ensures that help desk problems are controlled through a timely and structured process; ensures that complex problems are elevated to the proper level of support.
- Support end staff with new software and applications, training as appropriate.
- Assist with cabling and wiring functions for information systems at various City buildings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS and Office products
- Proficiency in Office 365, cloud platforms, and SaaS applications.
- Familiarity with cabling and networking protocols
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate across organizational levels.
- Strong customer service mindset and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates/Technical degree AND one to three years of experience in a technical support position involving the installation and maintenance of computerized information systems and sub-systems and providing technical support
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license
- Four-year degree in computer science or related field.
