Our Youth and Countywide Sports Division (YCSD) is hiring for a

Customer

Service

Representative

(CSR) who will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional environment for all members, guests, and visitors of the boxing gym. The CSR is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing front desk operations, handling memberships, and supporting the daily operations of the gym, including assistance with special events.

Examples of Important Duties

Greet members, guests, and visitors with a positive and professional attitude. Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries regarding gym programs, classes, schedules, membership options, and events. Process new memberships, renewals, cancellations, and payment transactions accurately. Assist with member check-in, class registrations, and appointment scheduling. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional front desk and lobby area. Provide accurate information on boxing programs, training options, and special events. Address and resolve member concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner. Assist with marketing and outreach by promoting upcoming classes, events, and membership specials. Support gym operations, including checking inventory of front desk supplies and merchandise sales. Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and management to ensure members have high-quality experience. Uphold and enforce all gym policies, safety procedures, and code of conduct. Assist with special events, such as amateur boxing shows, community events, workshops, and demonstrations. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Previous customer service, receptionist, or front desk experience preferred (fitness, recreation, or athletic facility experience is a plus). Must be at least 16 years of age or older (Ages 17 and under must have a work permit from high school if hired) Performance Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in basic computer systems, point-of-sale software, and scheduling tools. Passion for fitness, health, and/or boxing is highly desirable. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish preferred) highly desirable to better serve diverse membership. Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, sit, or move for extended periods. Light lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required for setting up displays, moving equipment, or assisting with gym operations. Supplemental Information

These positions are seasonal/part-time and do not include a benefits package. Hourly rate is based on experience. Must successfully pass a complete background investigation prior to hire. May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.

2025 BENEFIT SUMMARY FOR SEASONAL INTERMITTENT EMPLOYEES

The following information is a summary of benefits extended to all Seasonal employees of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). This is for informational purposes only and is subject to change.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees Health Insurance Plans You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.

If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.

Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%. Medical
