Responsibilities

• Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment by performing the following duties:
• Counts material in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
• Compares actual inventories to records in Metalware.
• Adjusts errors in computation or count and investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
• Willingness to assist in other areas of operations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one-year certificate from college or technical school.
• Experience in metals industry is preferred.
• Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Basic computer skills; must be able to use Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Willingness to learn the mainframe program (internal computer system).
• Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, or other measuring device.
• Willingness to learn to operate forklift/side loader and cutting equipment.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.

Physical Demands

• Position requires standing, sitting, stooping, and kneeling.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Willingness to work in an environment with varying temperature degrees.
