Overview

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for planning, analyzing, and reporting on cost structures to support strategic decision-making and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing or production environment. Location: Jacksonville, FL.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, documents, and records.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing processes related to cost accounting.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, especially related to cost and margin analysis.
• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate valuation and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting methodologies.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
