Tarvos Talent is seeking a dynamic Cost Accountant to join a thriving company in the Temple area. As a Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational performance by collaborating with the manufacturing and finance teams, as well as other key stakeholders. Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Provide insightful reporting and analysis of business performance, focusing on factors affecting product or service profitability.
• Maintain and update the standard cost system, including daily costing of new items and annual standards updates.
• Conduct variance analysis on material, labor, and overhead costs, identifying drivers and corrective actions.
• Participate in month-end closing of the General Ledger and ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and annual physical inventory coordination.
• Manage inventory, including balance reconciliation and reserve calculations for excess and obsolete items.
• Assist in audits and perform gross margin analysis to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with supervisors and manufacturing personnel to develop accurate product costs using Lean Principles.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyze justifications for new capital expenditures.
• Evaluate real property or equipment for sale, acquisition, or tax purposes, while upholding the highest ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with +2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with Oracle, Epicor, or other MRP software.
• Strong ability to aggregate data into meaningful reports with insights and recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Technical proficiency with standard costing systems, including BOM, routings, work center rates, and variance analysis.
