Job Description
The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide array of HR functions including talent management, attraction, retention, learning and development, performance review, compensation and benefits, compliance, relations, culture and safe work environment. The successful HR Generalist is a strong team player with a positive attitude willing to go the extra mile.
- Serve as a main point of contact for employees and managers
- Provide guidance and support to hourly employees and team leaders on key areas including, company and local policies, employee relations and workplace investigations as appropriate
- Encourage a workplace culture that demands consistent respectful, ethical, and lawful treatment of all employees
- Collaborate with leadership to build strong networking and alignment of departments
- Take a lead role in the evaluation of HR-related processes and procedures and provide suggestions to improve efficiency and workflow
- Manage job postings, assist in screening, testing and selection of applicants for temporary and full-time hourly positions
- Manage the performance management cycle timeline/process for professional staff
- Manage work accident and incident, illness and absenteeism files
- Actively participate in safety program
- Lead the tactical compliance of the agreements, such as mandated posting of job postings, wage agreement, attendance and overtime reporting and tracking
- Support the onboarding and offboarding process; plan and coordinate cultural recognition activities
- Track leaves and assist employees with the leave process as needed
- Analyze reporting data and metrics to improve turnover, retention, and engagement
- Process payroll for employees using ADP timekeeping system; including hours, overtime, site specific reimbursement requests (like shoes) - may include multiple sites
- Participate in Manufacturing/Operations team meetings when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or commensurate experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience; minimum of 2 years in HR role
- Experience with site timekeeping and payroll activities (ADP preferred)
- Sense of urgency, ability to work in a fast paced environment
Highly Preferred
- Ability to be onsite five days per week
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a track record of execution
- Trustworthy; follows through on stated commitments
- Solutions-oriented mindset with a bias for action and comfort with fast pace and rapid change
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects independently
- Detailed-oriented with excellent organizational & documentation skills
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
