Desktop Support Technician

A large E-commerce company in Portland, OR is hiring a Desktop Support Technician to join the team for a great long-term opportunity. Job duties include troubleshooting with both MAC and Windows environments/applications (primarily MAC environment), 80% Tier II onsite desktop support and 20% Tier I virtual chat support. The role also involves supporting the global workforce both onsite and remote workers, ensuring data integrity in the asset management system, performing asset management tasks, inventory, audits, and disposals at their site, proactively refreshing end of life (EOL) systems, provisioning computer assets in the new hire on-boarding process both onsite and remote, monitoring and remediating client health (SCCM, Anti-virus and related), and supporting video and teleconference technology, printers, and various brands of hardware (Windows and Mac). Qualifications include 2-3 years of desktop support experience, preferably in a medium to large end user environment. The candidate needs to have both MacOS and Windows support, in addition to Active Directory experience. Experience with ticketing systems, active directory, VPN solutions, WLAN, LAN, and basic knowledge of TCP/IP is required. Proficiency with Windows and Mac hardware and operating systems Unix/Linux is a plus. Knowledge of universal client image creation, management, and testing is also required. Knowledge of client and server operating systems, and machine architectures in a Windows environment is necessary. Knowledge of client and system architecture for Mac is required.
