This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader to make a profound impact at a mission-driven YMCA within a thriving community. The new CEO will drive innovative strategies to expand the YMCA\'s reach and deepen its impact within the service area. Cultivate strong partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance the YMCA\'s reputation and further its mission. Guide and inspire a dedicated staff team passionate about serving the community. Prioritize the safety and well-being of all individuals, especially youth, by exceeding industry standards and ensuring full compliance. The YMCA Board is seeking a visionary and community-minded CEO with proven leadership experience. The CEO must have the ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the YMCA’s mission and long-term goals. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills are essential. A track record of success in achieving measurable outcomes and driving organizational growth, with a deep understanding of the YMCA\'s values and a commitment to its mission, is required. Fiscal Management:
Use high-level financial analysis to forecast financial trends, growth and stability, while leading the organization toward balanced or surplus operations by growing earned revenue and contributions and controlling costs. Empower and guide staff leaders to achieve strong financial operation. Develop and implement stewardship strategies. Improve Operating Performance:
Engage the board and appropriate staff to develop an annual tactical plan for achieving key goals and objectives with safe, relevant, and sustainable practices. Address issues promptly, forecast future needs, and manage operations. Develop and Implement a Strategic Plan:
Work with volunteers, community leaders, and staff to create a strategic plan addressing community needs with defined strategies, a clear implementation plan with deliverables, and measurable goals. Steward Fundraising Efforts:
Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan that positions the YMCA as a leading nonprofit through member, volunteer, staff, and donor engagement. Include capital fundraising and growth in annual giving and endowment. Build and Lead Staff:
Ensure a talent development system is in place and executed with cultural competence. Hire, motivate, nurture, retain, and hold staff accountable for objectives. Foster a learning organization to help staff reach their potential. Position the Y as a Vital Partner for Community Change:
Serve as an ambassador for the mission and values, cultivating relationships with diverse stakeholders and upholding the Y\'s standards and public image. Candidate Criteria
Accredited 4-year college degree or equivalent experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values aligned with the YMCA mission. Minimum five years of senior management experience with a YMCA or related organization, with direct supervision of multiple staff levels. Ability to develop and strengthen community relationships and innovative programs, with focus on program quality and broadened engagement. Strategic planning and fundraising experience, including annual campaigns and grants. Fiscally sound business management with proven budget leadership. YMCA Organizational Leader Certification or ability to achieve within 3 years. Residency and Benefits
Residency in the YMCA service area is expected to be highly engaged and visible in the community. Benefits include retirement contribution (7% match, 5% employee), PTO, health plan (75% paid by the YMCA), and vision and dental options per policy.
